Default Will anti-depressants effect weight loss?

Sorry, another newbie question. I am taking anti-depressants (mirtazapine). Is this likely to affect progress on Atkins (I know some drugs interfere with weight loss etc)?

Probably, just up your metabolism. Try coconut oil. It works wonders for me. I take Pristiq and have a slow thyroid, but it doesn't seem to affect my WL.

I've been on AD's a few times and have lost wonderfully with them. I think it may have helped my "compulsion" to eat....In fact, I reached my goal weight a year and a half ago on them. I wouldn't worry too much! Good luck.

I am taking wellburtin and celexa, and so far I have dropped around 30 lbs. I have not found it to slow down any on the loosing. However, I know that there are some rx that will add to wait gain, but overall most are pretty atkins friendly and they help with mood and anxiety (two of my main reasons for eating). I would have to say that if you get discouraged don't just stop taking the meds.
