Question Calling all Starbuck Fans

Can you a girl out? I LOVE starbucks... and I do miss my frapachinos, but I do also like sweetened flavored coffee. I drink coffee at home, but I used to like to treat myself to Starbucks once a week.

WHAT the heck can I order from there? I am jonesing to go and just "sniff" the place out! PSST.... I am staying on induction for another 50 pounds.. so please, induction friendly suggestions!!

Thanks!

Do yourself a favor, and get yourself some DaVinci sugar-free syrups. I make a "frappucino" at home that is delicious with the caramel syrup, and yesterday I went through the drive-thru at SB and ordered a latte, and afterward added my own DV syrup to it. Only warning is that the milk in the latte is not induction-friendly.

Order a coffee or an iced coffee plain-just add half and half yourself. You can also order it with a sf syrup-vanilla, hazelnut or cinnamon-it depends what your particular Starbucks has at the time. You can order a hot or cold breve latte with your choice of half and half or heavy cream to replace the normal milk in a latte-but these are very calorie dense so I stay away from these. The iced coffees are so refreshing this time of year and are being made with the Gazebo blend coffee.

I concur with lisabinil. Iced Americano + a shot of sugar-free caramel syrup + half and half and sugar substitute is a nice approximation of the Frap experience. (Of course, the half and half and sugar substitute make it less than ideal, so I drink them only very rarely.)

As for heavy cream -- I have yet to find a Starbucks that admits to having any when I ask for it.

Just FYI- If you're looking to experiment at home, and make your own sugar-free coffee drinks, Starbucks will actually sell bottles of their sugar free syrup if they have them in stock. I recently bought one of each flavor, they were about $10 each (in Canada, anyway). The Vanilla flavor is really yummy with a plain omlette or egg whites in the morning-- "mock danish" without the splenda. Yums!

Hey Atlchica

I have had the DaVinci sugar-free syrups and love them. I didn't think you could have them on Atkins because they had sugar alcohols???? Just wondering on that.

I think that DaVinci sugar-free syrups only have splenda, and that's in liquid form. No sugar alchohol.

You can order a Breve anywhere. They are a latte made with half and half instead of milk, and they are HEAVENLY! Some places will have heavy cream that you can sub for the half and half, which is even better, but the half and half is good too Just be sure to order the smallest size... there is a LOT of cream in there, and the taller you make it the more carbs/calories that is!

They don't contain sugar alcohols-they are sweeted with liquid sucralose (Splenda)

I am a regular and this is what I order- Sugar free caramel machiato over ice w/ soy or breve-style (your preference). I keep my carbs around 30-40 a day, so it works for me. Also note, I get an extra shot added. -Denise

I usually order a breve. What is a machiato, exactly?

mine is always an iced breve with sf vanilla.I make them at work also.If you fill the cup with ice and a couple shots there isnt enough room left to overdose on carbs from the half and half
