Default Advice needed please

I haven't posted for a while, but have hung around reading. This is a wonderful site for all the information available and I thank you all for providing a service to everybody.

I am confused and very dejected. I was diagnosed with PCOS after various tests over 12 months ago now. I am on 1500mg Metformin daily and stick to a strict diet with no breaches in it. Yet I still am gaining weight not losing it. On top of that for some reason after my evening meal (I can set my watch by it) start to feel very poorly around an hour after eating (of course this is also when I take my Met), lightheaded to the point of passing out, however I don't have this problem during the day, only feeling lethargic, darned weird! I am not sure whether I'm getting hypoglycaemic or hyperglycaemic or if it's anything to do with PCOS either. My GP has tested me for hyperthyroidism (which came back normal she said, but I've been borderline in the past), I've had an elevated blood glucose test recently but the fasting blood glucose was normal, which could indicate a relation to PCOS?

For some reason between visits to the clinic for the treatment for PCOS my doc gives me a 6 month appointment, meaning my GP has to follow up and she doesn't understand it well enough (her admission) stating I probably know more than she does. The tests are 6 months old that he's looking at, so are really meaningless at the time of the appointment. He changed my Met to the modified release version on the last visit and I felt even worse after having those, which is why I'm thinking it's related to the PCOS rather than anything else? My testosterone levels hadn't been affected in that time either, goodness knows what they really were though since the test was old that he was looking at.

I'm looking for any of you who may know what the next step should be here. Have any of you had these symptoms after taking your Met and if so could you tell me what was causing it? Thank you so much.
