Question

Sorry for the enigmatic subject line. I can never think of suitably descriptive and brief subjects. Does anyone else have daily variation in lb loss? i.e. I have been bouncing around 7 lbs lost, 8, 7, 9, 8, 11, 7, 7, 10 etc. for the last two weeks. I don't know what to believe (I'm in my 6th week on Atkins and staying pretty close to induction level). I do take some wine or whisky on the weekends. Can't tell whether my new digital scale (cheap end one from London Drugs) is not sensitive to low amounts or whether I really am bouncing around like this. Still in moderate to high ketosis. Inches not changing much though clothing is less tight. Actually I'm still going on faith (from many posts from long time lowcarbers) that eventually the diet will work over the long haul.

Smile bounces

Hi, Liz. My scales bounce too. Yes, maybe it's 'cause we both have the cheap ones from London Drugs. Mostly, though, I think it's water fluctuations, depending on a number of factors - how much dinner we had the night before, TOM, water retention from that glass (or two, or three) of wine with dinner, etc. As long as the general trend is downwards, I'd say not to sweat it.

Smile that scale!

Hi

That happens to me too, i sometimes would loose 5 pounds in a day, and the next day would stay the same, i guess like you said it depends on the scale. I figured that at my gym i was weighting 5 pounds lighter than what i am at home, figures it was the scale at the gym that was off...
