Default Aspartame-free soft drinks?

I've posted the following query on the Protein Power forum and was recommended to move it here - hope someone can help:
Does anyone know if there are any fizzy drinks available in Ireland or UK that are NOT sweetened with aspartame? I have been unable to find any and would like to ditch the aspartame for good, as recommended in the Protein Power Lifestyle book. I've heard thet Coke will soon (?) be available sweetened with Splenda - is that correct?
Mostly, I try to just drink water, but that doesn't do much for my occasional Bacardi I also wondered if a Sodastream would work with Da Vinci syrups - maybe that might be an option. What do other PP followers do in this part of the world?

Wow! Thanks EnglishRose - I will look out for that. I know there are some carbs in Club Orange because of the fruit content, but it would be worth it to to be without aspartame. I always loved Club Orange. I hope we can get diet Coke sweetened with Splenda soon.

asda started new range of "no added sugar" and "sugar free", these obviously contain aspartame, but opposite there are bottled water. they even started new bottled water with hint of fruit (they got weird names) and they are sweetened with splenda... i noticed this couple weeks ago but now im low carbing again

Default aspartame-free soft drinks

T & T Beverages Ltd do a soft drink (T & T) sweetened with splender.

You can order it on their website www.ttbeverages.com or if a member of any of the Costco chains buy it cheaper there.

Most of Boots flavoured water are sweetened with Splenda and they've come out with really tasty ones too! I find the sparkling ones make great mixers!

i hate to dissapoint you all but while i was looking for drinks without aspartame i came across your site and thought i should tell you that splenda is just another name for aspartame. infact aspartame is also sold as Nutrasweet, Spoonful, Canderel and Equal and also E951.has anyone found any soft drinks that do not contain any of the above? thanks.

Hi Valharris,
Splenda and Aspartame are entirely different sweeteners. As you say, Aspartame does indeed have several names but I can assure you that Splenda (sucralose) isn't one of them.
As for soft drinks, if you are looking for one that doesn't include any artificial sweeteners, you are out of luck - unless you would prefer sugar (or maybe plain water ).
I think there are some new drinks available in the US sweetened with the herb Stevia. However, as it is a banned substance here (totally unwarranted!), it is unlikely to reach these shores.

Update for anyone who wants to get the aspartame - free drinks in UK or Ireland: Good old M&S are selling 2 litre bottles of their own brand of diet orange, cola and lemonade - ALL SWEETENED WITH SUCRALOSE!
I was ecstatic and bought loads of bottles - delicious and NO NASTY ASPARTAME! I am in heaven; Bacardi and Coke here I come ....
