Default IF and YouTube Gurus

Who do y'all follow on YT for IF. I've been watching Thomas DeLaurer but as a 60 year old woman, I sometimes can't really relate to a 32 year old wealthy, self employed, male body builder.
I do like his insights on women's health because his research into that was a result of helping his wife with her thyroid problems. He has good info on supplementation and food sources of vitamins and minerals. My main hesitation with him is that he says not to fast every day but he doesn't explain much about that. I need to look through his video history to see if he elaborates, anywhere.

So, who else is good? I'm going to find Dr. Westman's videos next, I think. I've watched Dr. Fung for a long time but he's long on theory and short on practical details of how to maximize the results. I did do some IF back in 2017/2018 but it quit working for a while and I know it was user error, and I want to avoid that this time.

I cannot stand DeLaurer, not a doctor, and not too keen on Berg either as a chiropractor pushing supplements.

Dr. Westman is not a fan of fasting more than 24 hours, though he's fine with Time Restricted Eating (1 or 2 meals a day). Dr. Ted Naiman also recommends at least one meal a day or you do not get enough protein...my two favorite Medical Doctors for Fasting info....though their advice boils down to you should eat some protein everyday.
The one Engineer I follow who is not an MD is Marty Kendall...he has done some very interesting work on Nutrient Optimization to manage hunger and a Data Driven method to determine the perfect Fasting and eating windows for you, based on your blood glucose readings.

Marty Kendall:

https://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=473285

Marty's take on Fasting: "There is nothing wrong with going 24 or 36 hours without food so long as you are making good choices when you refeed to ensure you are getting the nutrients you need over the longer term and don’t have a history of binge eating. However, if you are not able to control food quality or quantity when you refeed, you are unlikely to be making sustainable long-term improvements. read more at https://optimisingnutrition.com/ket...nger-is-better/

His PE Diet book is excellent (the $20 e-book version)
Or the weight loss version boils down to a few infographics:

Hope you have time to Binge Watch! this year due to Covid he does at least two new videos a week. The new Conversations series is good, one topic 20-30 minutes. The Dr. Westman Lives can go well over an hour. one each Monday. And his new book:

Specifically for Intermittent Fasting, I forgot to mention Gin Stephens. What reminded me this morning is that sooooo many people in the new DDF challenge mention her as their reason for joining...her podcast, her method, which is DDD...Delay, Don’t Deny.
I read her books about a year ago but thought them way too long, chatty, with lots of personal stories, not much meat. The 400 page book could have been 40 ..but she is a delightful speaker, supportive, good podcaster, thousands of women around the world follow her.
Here's a recent YT interview: https://youtu.be/uOGtCNk8NVg
And her podcast about DDF: https://www.intermittentfastingstor...i-tilden-leeke/

I joined Gin Stephens Delay Don't Deny FB group very soon after she started it, having "met" her on Dr Herring's Fast-5 group. I took on board her definition of clean fasting. I recommend her "Fast, Feast Repeat" as a practical handbook after absorbing the theory in Dr Fung's "The Obesity Code". More use than his own book on fasting IMO.

I'll be checking out those links and I already have Dr. Westman on my queue list. Today, I re-discovered Dr. Ben Bickman. His lecture titled Insulin vs Ketones was just fantastic. Very inspiring.
It doesn't bother me that DeLauer is not a doctor. I don't consider him infallible, as I don't for anyone. I value his experience as one who has lost 100 lbs. and has no loose skin to show for it. I know I'll never engage in the lifting he does, and I'm not a man, nor 32 years old, but he's put in the work and I respect that.
I know that I've already benefitted from his advice on supplements and that's the main thing I get from him.

So many voices to listen to and learn from...

I've lost 100 pounds, I'm an older woman, and I'm not dealing with skin issues beyond some wrinkling here and there which is probably to be expected

As you can see from my signature, below, I've tried lots of things, and gotten benefits from every one of those I list. It's a little scary, but also freeing, to know we are ultimately our own guide to this process.

We're the only one who knows what works for us. Keep seeking. I suspect we never stop
