Talking Hi Ya!

Hi All!!

I'm new here. I signed up just a couple of days ago and this is my first time posting. I haven't read much of the messages either. So I don't know what kind of info you want here.

Here are my stats. I'm 24, located in Northern Virginia. I currently weigh about 160 and wish to lose 20 lbs. I'll stay with that goal and then once I reach that, maybe try for a little more. But with my heigh and build, I think that will be perfect for me.

Other info: I have 2 kids, 6 and 2. I didn't gain hardly any weight with my daughter (6), but with my son (2), it just stayed on. However, I have lost a lot of weight since I had him. I've kept off 35 lbs. I lost closer to 50 lbs, but gained some of it back over the winter. Part of that weight loss was due to the Low Carb Way of Life, that's why I'm back to doing it again. I've lost about 2 1/2 lbs so far this week. (Yay me!) =)

You seem like a very friendly crowd, I can't wait to get to know you guys!!

Sharon

I am 5'7. I Weighed in at 162, as of yesterday (Sunday) morning I weighed 152!!! Half way to my goal!

But... I weighed myself this morning, 155. Slightly discouraged, tempted to cheat while I'm out to lunch this afternoon. But after all of the stuff I've avoided this weekend (pretzels, cookies, cupcakes, ho-ho's, zingers, chips, ugh! DARNED COMPANY PICNICS!!) I think I've done great.

But why did I gain those 3 lbs??? My thoughts: I went to Applebee's yesterday and had part of a salad and a "not so" somothered chicken. I just had them leave the cheese on. Maybe they injected the chicken with something? Maybe it was the Nacho cheese I kept "tasting". Maybe I ate a little too much of the French dressing even though I only dipped my lettuce into it occasionally. Who knows, I'll just be more careful when I go out this afternoon. We're going to Don Pablos, I'm hoping that Fajitas without the tortillas will be okay. Guess we'll see!!

Sorry I keep typing long posts, I'm hyper and tend to ramble when I'm like this. I'll stop now!!

Thanks for saying Hi!!

Sharon

sharon, not to worry! your posts aren't too long! speak your mind here! that's what we get together for! a good idea is to pick up a good carb counter. i recommend corinne netzer's the complete book of food counts, fifth edition. i refer to it constantly. another thing to try is logging on the fitday.com. it will calculate all your carbs for you. you'll be suprised how quickly they add up! check out our journal/bootcamp forum. people post there menus there! maybe you'd like to post there as well!
