Default Does Low Carbing really help?

I've read that it helps some people with regrowing their hair on the top of the head and having less body/facial hair. Has that been anyone's experience?

Hi Tiffanie!
I don't know about regrowth but I found that it did reduce my facial hair! Good luck with your new lifestyle...I had wonderful success and was able to get pregnant despite PCOS. Any questions let me know!

Take care!

Why don't doctors tell us any of this, I was diagnosed over 5 years ago and not one doctor has suggested trying low carb for the symptoms, they keep just prescribing new drugs that I stop taking because the side effects are worse than the syndrome - I am so glad I have started low carb and can't wait to read the rest of this thread. Thank you

I found an old thread from 2002, and there were a ton of women talking about how LC had improved their hairy arms, like the hair got lighter! And multiple women said they had fuzzies on their heads where the hair was growing back. And several of them mentioned that their periods came back naturally. That is how I got referred to this forum.

Thanks for responding ladies. It's nice to feel I am not the only one with these "challenges".

I have been LCing for around three weeks now and I have noticed a difference in my skin. I have rosacea and suffer from red and dry skin. My face doesn't look as red as it used to and it feels smooth! It could be that I am drinking more water and have cut back on alcohol consumption. Whatever it is, I am extremely happy with the results. I am starting to look purdier already! lol

For me low carbing works. I notice that the hair on my chin disappears when I lose weight on low carb (specifically under 150 lbs, don't know why). I also agree with AussieTonz and don't know why doctors give you a ton of medications instead of suggesting low carb. I suffered with pcos for a long time until I was trying to get pregnant and went to an infertility specialist who's the one who enlightened me on pcos & low carb.
You will have much success if you stick to low carb!

I think it depends on the doctor....DH routines recommends carbohydrate restriction for his PCOS patients and sees a good number follow through with marked improvements.
