Hi!
I'm here because I want to give the Atkins diet a REAL try this time and I wanted to have people for support and advice. I have tried to do this before but I always give up because I don't know what to eat except cheeses, meats, eggs and other foods which are great in the beginning , but after a few days I begin to feel sick to my stomach.
Anyway, besides the obvious low carb, protein rich foods out there, what else can I eat?!
Thanks!
Annie

hi annie and welcome aboard! have you read dr atkins new diet revolution. i'd strongly advise reading it first. i'd also advise that you read the protein power plan by dr.eades. as for what you can eat, on atkins induction you must keep carbs under 20g per day. 20g of carbs add up quickly, so stick to the lowcarb veggies. salad vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage. don't forget the fat food group. butter and olive oil, mayo, sour cream. you can use bottled salad dressing. look for the low carb ones which are also the full fat ones. don't even look at the light dressings! good luck annie.

Hi Annie & Welcome

You will get heaps of support here from lots of knowledgable and kind people.

My advice is crawl through induction - its only two weeks. Then hit the recipe section, especially Karen's recipes - she really knows how to eat.

Even if you're not into cooking - experiment with a little baked stuff, muffins, cookies, bread , cheesecake?? Find something that takes your fancy and use it to break up the monotony of meat and veg. Its great to follow dinner with a slice of lowcarb cheesecake or have a berry muffin for afternoon tea with your coffee.

You need a bit of variety and once you do, it couldnt be an easier woe to follow.

Good to hear from you and stick at it.

Nicola
