Default reasonably priced breakfast ideas

I need something with about 20g carbs for breakfast that isn't extremely calorie dense. Any ideas? Could include eggs and/or some other cheaper protein as well, like ham or something.

Try steamed eggs. They're like hard boiled but peel much, much easier. If you have a rice maker, or steamer of any sort that'll work well. Basically you steam them for about 13-14 minutes then plunge them into ice water. Make 6-12 at a time and that should keep you going a few days.

Johnsonville Brats are a good price at Costco. I make 8 or so at a go in the oven then have one or two along with a steamed egg. Great stuff.

I make buttery scrambled eggs at least a few times a week. I usually make 6 eggs and split it with my wife.

Sometimes I'll add some mushrooms or red bell pepper to change it up a bit, depending on what I have around.

Not when you lift weights 45 minutes and do cardio 80 minutes. I need about 15-20g else I feel like crap.

I like eggs, spinach, garlic, tomato, olive oil or coconut oil. Makes a nice frittata. Add beef if you need more protein

With 20 g carbs, you could have eggs, bacon or sausage, and even some hash browns or grits. Plus, fresh tomatoes, cantaloupes, peaches, etc which are very good this time of year and often inexpensive at farmer's markets.

Thanks for the ideas so far. I am looking into yam/sweet potato and butternut squash recipes right now. They sound like good sources of morning carbs. Would yams/sweet potatoes be any good with eggs? Ham seems like it would be good with it. The squash would be good with eggs and bacon/sausage etc.

That is something I was thinking about, but I am not sure if sweet potatoes would taste good that way. Have you tried it?

Daikon radishes make great "hash browns," with fewer carbs than potatoes. They're more expensive than potatoes, but not particularly expensive if the price is "by the radish" rather than "by the pound." One big radish can last a long time.

The squash and sweet potatoes sound good, too.
