As someone already suggested, the plan is already fairly low carb. It's low everything actually!
But I am doing a lower carb version, I'm skipping the breadsticks and limiting to no more than 1 fruit a day. Most days, I don't even eat the one. Maybe 3 times a week I'll have a serving of strawberries. I think I've had 2 apples in 31 days.
I'm making up the difference with larger portions of protein and veggies. I typically eat 9 - 12 oz protein. Still stick with just the meats on the food list, though, or sometimes add 1/2c of LF cottage cheese.
3 or 4 days a week, I do IF (Intermittent Fasting) in conjunction with P2, and eat all my calories in one meal.
I will mix veggies at one meal but stick to the list, except I ate brussels sprouts the other day (gasp!) and showed loss the next day. Ate some again tonight, will see what happens on the scale tomorrow. I'm thinking of trying broccoli, too. Any P2 broccoli eaters here?
The first 3 weeks, I avoided diet soda entirely, then last Monday, I was at an all-day workshop where breakfast and lunch was provided, and the only thing I could think of to not feel so deprived that everyone around me was eating and there was nothing I could eat, was drink a diet coke. I ended up drinking 3, and still showed a loss the next day. So since then, I've been having a diet soda almost every day, but no more diet coke, I stick to splenda rather than aspartame sweetened. I've been using liquid stevia and Truvia otherwise.
I've been using Walden Farms zero calorie products. The creamy bacon dressing (makes great chicken salad), and the tomato sauce. Also, the strawberry syrup on sliced strawberries is divine!
I've been using my regular cosmetics and my normal liquid foundation, but I did purchase an oil-free under-makeup moisturizer.
I do think it's important to stick to the protocol for a few weeks to know how you respond to it and lose on it, before you start tweaking.
