Default Down 50 lbs and I need to pat myself on the back!

So I've been on a plateau for a few weeks and it's been a little discouraging so I decided it was time to be POSITIVE!! I wanted to share some exciting things that have happened for me.

First off, I've lost 50 lbs! I have less than 100 lbs to lose now!! (I am not sure if I want to be 125 or 115 when I am done- 115 would be the lowest I think). My clothes are falling off, I have people give me a double take (some not even recognize me) and finally other people are seeing the difference- so discouraging when you've lost a lot and no one sees it.

Second, and most exciting for me, is that I've started running. I have been running 2 miles a couple of days a week, and am increasing that. I would NEVER have even DREAMED of doing that before. EVER. I've never been a runner! But I think it's safe to say I AM now!! Dream big, you guys!

I am nearing Onderland- I only have 12 lbs to lose to be under 200 lbs. I started at 263 lbs and wondered when I would hit 300 but luckily the lightbulb went off and here I am now! I have not been this small in a LOONNGG time!

I can feel my body shrinking. I often put my hands on my waist and am amazed at the lack of tummy. I have a lap now for pete's sake! The remaining tummy even looks like it is going to tighten up nicely. I am sure I will have a little loose skin but it's not going to be like I expected- YAY!

I can BREATHE at night SO much better. I used to have to prop my head up in a special way to even be able to breathe. Not anymore! I can sleep in nearly any position and breathe fine. My boobies don't choke me anymore.

Though I am happily married, it's still nice to see more looks my way. People treat me differently even just after 50 lbs of weight loss. It's nice to be treated like a human being.

Yes I still have close to 100 lbs to lose, but I have come a long way and I needed to recognize that today. This plateau is mentally a challenge for me as I've been losing very consistently for 5 months, but I can do it.

Thanks for reading

You really deserve a pat on the back! It's so nice to hear from someone who's getting good results. So you're plateauing a little, but if you hang in there, the weight loss will continue, I'm sure.
It's worth it - you're worth it!!

Great post! Thanks for sharing, it's a good reminder of how wide the scope of benefits are from this WOE, so much more than just the number on the scale.

The excitement just bubbles out in your post melodyrose!

You have accomplished a tremendous amount. I just hit "onderland" and it meant the world to me!

You are right there yourself!

Keep up the good work and hey, maybe consider starting a journal so we could follow your progress.
