is it harmful to take diet pills while doing Atkins?

Likely depends on the pill. I'm only specifically familiar with appetite decreasers. I doubt that they would be of use, since ketosis largely decreases appetite.

From an introductory perspective? I'd stay away from them simply because I want to focus on nutrition and exercise - without extra chemicals.
