I mostly worry about eating too fast in a social setting. Finish early, and people assume you're hungry and push more food at you. In my case, I'll probably take it. Watching people eat reawakens my hunger. If I eat a 5 ounce pork chop and some spinach with butter by myself, I'm done, however quickly I might have finished, I go on with my life. If I do this and then have to sit there watching somebody else eat, I'll probably take more when they offer it.
I try to slow down to give myself a chance to enjoy the food, but when I'm eating alone, wolfing down my meals doesn't seem to affect my appetite much.
