Great alternate for Vibram Fivefingers!
I have searched ALL OVER my podunk town for Vibram Fivefingers, no luck. I didn't want to buy any without trying them on, just seemed too risky. FINALLY, I found out JC Penney sells something kind of like them, Fila Skele-Toes.
We took our kids to visit their grandparents this afternoon after school, and on the one-hour drive back, we passed a JC Penney. They only had men's Skele-Toes, but they said they had sizes as small as 4's, so I checked those out, even if it was just to get an approximate idea of how they might fit me.
Jackpot! These things are awesome! I bought a pair of Size 5's (I normally wear women's 5-1/2's), so I'm guessing Men's and Women's shoes must run pretty similarly, probably. The best part is they cost $50, versus $80-$125 for the Fivefingers. I worked out as soon as I got home, lol, and they were excellent! Felt just like working out barefoot, exactly as promised. I can't compare them to Vibrams, obviously, but they are pretty good in their own right.
