Default What medications can cause a stall?

Hello everyone,

I'm doing my best on my low carb diet and haven't cheated. I lost a stack of weight earlier in the year (30+ lbs) and have lost a further stack on Low Carb to bring me to 46 lbs lost overall this year, which is great! I really want to get to 50 lbs by Christmas.... But for at least two weeks now my weight has stayed the same or fluctuated a little up and down, despite my ketostix reading purple every day. I am wondering if my medications are causing the stall?

I'm on co-codamol, tramadol, diclofenac and amytriptyline every day - all for pain in my knees relating to running earlier in the year (hence the earlier weight-loss). I think I will need knee-replacements in the near future...

Do these meds cause stalls? Any other thoughts that could help me?

Many thanks all.

Kenny

Not sure about your medication, but elevated cortisol levels due to ongoing pain in your body can cause weight issues. Inflammation can also be problematic.
I know it's hard not to meet your goal, but your body has a lot going on right now. It will need healing time. Keep giving it the good nutritious food and let it recover.
