This definitely sounds like something you might want to have an Endocrinologist address (or at least confirm that everything has been tested for that needs to be). I was not diagnosed with PCOS until my OB/GYN performed surgery to look for endometriosis and found tiny cysts on my ovaries instead. They were missed on an ultrasound.

To update, the endocrinologist found nothing really out of place except that I am now having problems with low estrogen as well as low progesterone. Testosterone, LH, and FSH were normal. So I don't have PCOS. I went back to my gynecologist and he put me on an estrogen supplement along with the progesterone I was already taking. I am pretty worried about my weight loss, because I have just started losing again this spring after a long time of no loss and gains. I attribute that to the progesterone and am worried that the estrogen will inhibit weight loss.

I am pretty confused about what to believe. Atkins said that HRT will slow or stop weight loss, but I read that Schwarzbein wrote that hormones must be balanced for weight loss to take place. So I don't know what to believe. But I can't put up with the symptoms any more, either.
