Default Can someone tell me what creamed cottage cheese is?

I was trying to find a cottage cheese to put into fitday and I saw that creamed cottage cheese is 5 less carbs and less calories. For 1 cup its 217 cal. and 5.63 carbs. The kind I have in the fridge now (4% milkfat or more) is the same amount of carbs for 1/2 cup. Is creamed cottage cheese just that? Cottage cheese...creamed? As in blended til no chunkies? I love cottage cheese, so where do I get creamed cottage cheese and does it taste any different?

Hi ElCorazon

Most of the cottage cheese in the tubs is creamed - small chunks of solid in a creamy substance (hard to describe it's not a liquid substance but not solid - more like a creamy kind of coating that the chunks are suspended in) the dry cottage cheese does not have this creamy stuff. Anytime I have had the dry it has been hard to find - and it always stated dry curd cottage cheese on the tub.

Check the fat content of the creamed cottage cheese. I think that it can be 15% depending on who makes it. Thats why its better to enter your own numbers on fitday. Its what on the label of what you buy that counts.

fishburg,
I dont know of Dr.Atkins okays it but its only 5 carbs for 1/2 cup. I like adding to to my "milkshakes" to thicken it up. I do 1 scoop Keto Choc. PB, some ice, some water, lil DaVinci choc. syrup, and tablespoon or so of cottage cheese. Mmmm! Nice and thick And its only considered 1/2 a Keto Shake serving. So I usually have 2-3 a day. Sorry for rambling, had to share. I put jello and cottage cheese together. Or if I wanna kill a craving Ill take a spoonful of cottage cheese and sprinkle some Splenda over the sink onto the spoon. Has to be the full fat cottage cheese though. Just read the labels.

Yes once you are out of induction, it is fine at about a 1/2 cup a day. I have eaten it everyday, the 4% one for months now with berries, can't go with out it.

I like to eat this in a bowl:

cottage cheese
cream cheese
dash of vanilla extract
splenda

Mix well and heat in the microwave till warm. Tastes like cheesecake and is really yummy. Also good with berries.
