Unhappy What am I doing wrong?

Been eating mostly protein and fat for 2 weeks....averaging 40 - 50 grams of carbs / day ....gained 4 pounds. ...true I've been travelling and on vacation so more sitting and visiting than moving around.

Hi and welcome. I think you answered your own question at the end there. Also, 40-50 g carbs/day is basically maintenance for a lot of us. The good news is that you're doing your body a world of good if you're only eating that amount of carbohydrate. The less-good news: if you want to lose weight, you probably have to get back to induction levels and follow the induction rules. If you haven't done so already, learn your staller foods and your trigger foods.

I noticed you mentioned being on Meloxicam for arthritis. I'd strongly encourage you to get off gluten. Completely. At least give it a good try, for at least a month. It's not as hard as it sounds once you learn what you can and can't eat at restaurants, and what grocery products you can and can't have. I filled my Meloxicam prescription and the bottle actually expired before I took even one.

Cheers!

Thank you , I appreciate it ..today only 18 g carbs ...much easier at home than on the road!

Eleven years ...should've stuck to it before ...will take the no gluten advise ...would be happy not to have to take Meloxicam!

Here I am again. Stayed under 28 g of carbs since last post ...weight went down 4 lbs! I was 138 this morning. Yes less carbs helped...I feel good and keep reading posts and articles on the site when I have time. I have also went to the gym and added a walk when I can or when I feel like having sweet or high carb food. Thank you to all who contribute to this website.
