Default chicken tenders or strips

Hi all,

Does anyone have a good recipe for chicken tenders or chicken strips, like the ones that you get in a restaurant only not as many carbs? I make them with a coating of whipped cream, egg whites and a coating of pork rinds but something is missing. Help!!!

marinade the chicken in cream and egg as you are doing but I use a coating of Parmasean cheese with various spices... usually Italian seasoning, season salt, garlic or what ever is on hand. the cheese has some carbs but tastes way better than pork rinds and has way less carbs than breading.

dip and coat and pan fry in oil to brown then finish in the oven

I also use the cheese mixure as a shake and bake for chicken pieces and then bake them in the oven. A family favorite

Thanks, this one sounds like a fantastic recipe but how long do you bake it in the oven and at what temperature? Also, any nutrition information?

, I drive my friends crazy becuase I just wing my cooking and so I forget to give all the details. This recipe is somewhere on here much more specific too but I can't remember where. (I was using the parmesian as breading before I saw the recipe though).

The chicken tenders didn't take long after browning in olive oil. cooked them at 425 on a sprayed pan. probably about 15 min on each side, depending on the size of pieces. I usually cut the largest piece to check if there is any pink and then figure the rest are done.

for the shake and bake I cook on a grill at 400 for about 35-40 min but I have a convection oven so it may be quicker. I also would turn the chicken if you don't have a convection so that it's crispy on each side.

The chicken would be no carbs and I would devide up the cheese you use by how many servings and that would be the carb count. there probably is about 1 tsp per serving of cheese.

Hi Lise,
Thanks again. Chicken tenders dipped in ranch dressing and a small salad sounds great to me. I'm somewhat like you, I take a little of this and a little of that but I am very particular when it comes to the carb count & my exercise program. I have a goal of 190 or a size smaller than 16W by April 24.
