Exclamation Is this affecting my mood?

After my last blood test, my doctor has recommended a couple of new things in my daily regiment. My cholesterol is high, so she has asked that I do either South Beach or Paleo for 6 months to see if we can get it down by diet alone. My thyroid is at 2.59 so she has recommended a low dose of armour to see if it helps with my energy level and to see if it helps me get my weight down. I started taking it three days ago. Since then I have felt very depressed and weepy and I have had trouble sleeping. Is this normal? Will it go away? Is this the diet or is it the medicine? I am feeling hopeless.

Hi Breezy, and welcome to the forum.

It's a few weeks now since your post so I hope things may have gotten better.
If not and your mood is still off I'd get back to your doctor and tell them how you're feeling.
As you made two changes at once the only way to figure out which is the cause is to reverse one or the other in turn, or drop both together and see if it helps.

The same treatments can have very different affects with different individuals.
If something's not working out, and it started happening with a new medication or treatment, then going "back to the beginning" is usually a good plan. Doctors are well used to this. They will often go through a range of similar medications until they find one that resonates with the client.

Which eating plan did you go with. South Beach or Paleo?
Either way hope things work out and let us know how things work out.
