Default "Perfect Dughters" book,

So I am reading one of the BEST "self help" books I've EVER had my hands on... It is called "Perfect Daughters" it is for adult daughters of alcoholics. HOLY COW.................. it is giving me SO MUCH insight on to why I am the way I am, and why I have some "self control" issues, specifically with food. I have a very addictive personality..... food isjust my addiction of choice. Anyway... I jsut wanted to share this in case there are others of you that are adult daughters of alcoholics (or even perhaps addicts, I think the behavior pattern is very similar). The whole "SBD WOE" has really helped me WANT to get the rest of me "better" and this book is the perfect (albiet, hard to read sometimes) companion.

EDIT: here is the link to that book on amazon if you are interested...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/15...6785421?ie=UTF8

ps...I should mention, it is my Father who is the alcoholic. I mention this because my Mom (best mom in the world btw ) is catsrus, and posts on this site... I just don't want you all to think less of her, it is really my dad with the issues.

Thanks so much for sharing this with us Camelle!! I know that there are many members of this site that don't do SBD that would benefit from this book.

My mom was the daughter of an alcoholic and would never admit it let alone deal with her own issues about it. I now deal with the issues that I got from her....the cycle is stopping with me.

I do so admire you that you are doing all these wonderful things for yourself and truly healing yourself from the inside out, not just the outside!!

You da bomb Camelle!!

Thanks camelle, you know, I think this is a great place to post something like that.
I am going to forward it onto my friend in Canada, her mother had a problem with drink when she was growing up and it will be helpful to her!
Thanks

Camelle, can you tell us a bit more about it? My mom is the daughter of an alcoholic and has well nicely put, some control issues. I really do think a lot of it stems from that and I'd like to get her the book if you think it might help. She is very my opinion is the way it should be, house must be perfect, controlling the world around her that she couldn't control growing up. I'd love to hear more about the book.
On another note, you rock. I am so glad you are here and sharing things. You seem to be working on all aspects of your life and that's hard! You are doing great! I just bought Dr. Phils Self Matters book, should be interesting!
