Smile Vitamins and supplements

I have been stalled for 3 months-gaining and losing the same two lbs and not getting to goal. My DH has lost 23 lbs in the same time eating virtually the same foods-ok I overdo lc sweets but still... I take tons of vitamins and supplements-he doesn't. I looked over my "takings" the other night and low and behold-maltdextrin, cornstarch, dextrose, cellulose. I'm really not sure what these are but from the -ose i thought maybe they are the culprit. I stopped them and have lost a couple of lbs. If anyone has an opine let me know.

Ann,

I do not know how to thank you! I am a WholeFoods Vitamin Junkie. I take Zinc, Mg, Ca, Omega's, Bitoin & a Multi. I have experienced a horrible stall although I do not eat dairy & only eat lettuce, Protein, fat. My carb around 10-15 & no weight loss, so I just checked my vitamins. OMG! All of them had the (ose) except the Omega's. ose=sugars ( used in biochemistry to form the names of sugars). I am surprised I did not gain weight eating all that fat along w/all that sugar!
Thank you endlessly!
Jordan

1 day after omitting these vitamins I am down 1 pound. Although my doctor says these are just fillers and not to worry. I wonder???

It helped me. Maybe you could just go without for a few days-no harm will come without them and then you can decide for yourself. I've found replacements out there but am having to read every label. Anne

I posted a similar question in a different forum, and got relatively few answers. (gonna try to find link & post here).

I too take several vitamins:
E, C, Biotin, B complex, Niacin, MSM, some others.

I had contemplated adding glucosine (chondrointin) to them but found very mixed info about it messing w/insulin levels, this leading to no weight loss etc.

My issue is that I have hit a stall so far of 4 weeks - flucuating 1 lb up or down - soooo annoying.

I too asked the same question.
Thanks for posting this. let me find the link to my other thread. BRB

http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=397674

so based on your responses so far, you all really think its possible that the "ose" s in your vitamins were enough to stall you? What did you do - completely remove the vitamin?
