I put a thread link ? is that what you would call it so when a person posts in the thread I get an email.

I am now 3 weks in with no visible advance since the fist weeks 4 lbs and then a 1 lb. I must confess to the getting on the wretched scales each day so I was going up and down like the proverbial yo yo, so I have banished the scales to the garage and am going to weigh at the gym weekly !! well thats the plan.

I'm a daily weigher as well, but I go to Super Drug once a week and "weigh in", you get a little print out, and I keep that tucked away in my journal.

Well I went did my physcical jerks as my Dad used to refer to them and having weighed, like Superdrug the gym give you a ticket and I can report I am one inch shorter and weigh exactly the same as last Tuesday !! It is a bit disheartening especially when you read some of the marvellous losses people achieve!!

I am not giving up, at least on this food plan I am not hungry which I was on WW.

I also have been reading about some Japanese noodles called somehing like that daft numbers puzzle Sudoko ? they have no carbs so I wil have a look for them and try them, there does seem a lot of carb free stuff in Canada & the US which I have never heard of What for instance is a Jicama ? it is in the Salad Veg list.

On a different note, the Anti=coagulant clinic nurse thinks my diet may be affecting my INR blood count, it has to remain thin because of the artifical valves and its tested weekly, since starting Atkins it is 1.2/1.9 when it should be 3.5, I had a test yesterday and they've upped the Warfarin so we will see .

Cheers for to-day

I think you must mean 'shiratake' noodles.
I get mine from http://www.mountfuji.co.uk/acatalog...t_Foods_28.html

It is made from 'yam bean' which I think is the same as Jicama, as I have seen that described as being 'yam bean' too. As far as I know you cant get Jicama in UK.

If anyone knows otherwise I would love to know where to buy it in UK!!

I bought it online, probably at lowcarbmegastore.com but i haven't tried them yet inspite of having had them for a while, what i really want to find is spaghetti squash, i got on last summer at tesco and it was yummy with bolognese sauce but i haven't seen any since!

Dear Daisy, when you say you bought it on line do you mean the noodles ?
To day folks is another dreaded weghing day, I dont feel as if there is anything gone but live in hope.
My daughter loked at my food diary and said it looked fine!, she is a sucessful Atkins eater, I cant believe my medication interferes that much but who can you ask ??

Cheers

Sorry yes i meant the noodles, i'm still hoping to find out where to get spaghetti squash though

Good luck for weigh in day, i think the hardest thing to remember that although we want to lose weight along the way (i'd like to lose some more), its also a complete way of life change too so even when it appears we arent' losing we are doing wonderful things for our bodies at the same time

Whiteser - congrats on the lb off

I've seen lots of ppl post about using the noodles in stir fry's and as a substitute for pasta, i just haven't fancied them to be honest, they don't look very appetising (to me) and they've stayed in the cupboard.

You should try Dreamfields pasta which is now available in some shops in London.

Regretably I am not in London but I will have a lookfor Dreamfields pasta ?
Never did find the Japanese noodles. The only 'bad' thing I have given in to since Jan 8 was a slice of toast when I had family staying and was cooking what I call the full 'Irish' breakfast mind you it did'nt taste as good as I though it had gone a bit cool !!! I do miss my pasta so if you can recall which shops it would be great.

Cheers

Hi all,

Another UKer here.

I tried dreamfields pasta, after a long time looking at the box - how scary is pasta to an LCer!? And sticking to the 56g serving size, I don't seeeeem to get any BS spikes or cravings afterwards. I do make a point of having plenty of protein with it. I will check again for affects next time I have it.
