Question Salmon Steaks with Garlic and Green Chilies

Auto generated link to page (Please do not remove): http://www.lowcarb.ca/karen/recipe001a.html
Hi there,
I live in England and I have no idea what a cup size is? Are you talking about teacups or a number of tablespoons? Also can you confirm that cilantri is Parsley?
I have only this minute starting looking at the low card diets and your recipes look yummy.

Thanks!

Hi Nirupa,

1 imperial cup is 8 fluid ounces or 240 milliliters. Cilantro is also called fresh coriander or Chinese parsley.

HI Karen

I am planning to make your Salmon Steaks with garlic and chilli for a dinner party on Friday night.

Would it be OK if I made the marinade tonight ( Thurs) and left the fish marinading over night? You say in the recipe at least 2 hours.

I am afriad to leave it over night and make a mess of it.

thanks a million
Clodagh

Hi Clodagh!

If your short of time, you can make the marinade the day before and marinate the steaks up to two hours on the day you are going to cook them.

If left overnight, the steaks will turn to mush. There's something in ginger that causes that to happen, especially with seafood.

What are you serving with them?

That's grand, thanks Karen.

I am glad I asked!!!

The others at my party are not low carbers so I was going to make them some simple new potatoes to go with it, and some green beans or broccoli as well.

I will leave out the spuds for me and give myself lots more veg.

I was also thinking of making a kind of ratatouille with tomatoes, peppers, courgette. Would that be way too many flavours?

Thank you very much indeed for your advice.

Clodagh

Karen

I just wanted to let you know that your salmon with garlic and chilli went down a storm on Friday night!

I don't have much of a reputation as a cook, so my guests were extremely impressed! And it was really simple to do.

I also impressed them with Bruschetta from Delia Smith's book which was gorgeous. The only thing was I had two pieces myself which not a good plan as the Ciabatta bread is not low carb and very tasty!

Anyway once again thanks a lot

Clodagh
