Question The Gabriel Method

I just clicked on a banner showing up here in the forums called the Gabriel Method.
Some pretty amazing testimonies going on there....

Has anyone here tried this?

I think you'll find it's not a low carb plan.

No, not low carb.
You can read some of the book online. He thinks people gain weight for protection. If you feel "safe" you'll lose weight.

The Gabriel Method doesn't have any DVDs. It has one CD, that comes with the book.

i have tried this and i think he is on to something.....if you feel the need to protect yourself from emotions the body uses fat as a shield....his focus in not on LC foods but healthy food choices something that would benefit anyone. LC diets work for me but consider LC food eliminates alot of highly processed foods which is what the GM suggests. The cd is really good to listen to for the reason that you reprogram your mindset toward a healthy focus. .... i liked it and have lost 10 kg since i started 12 weeks ago

Definitely a brainwashing cd. I bought the book and had to download cd. When I realised that it was brainwashing I didn't bother to listen. Yes, I am sure it works, but didn't want brainwashing by an outside influence. It is a good cd if you want someone to tell you what to do whilst you are in a relaxed state. Same as hypnosis.

No offence Sayria but it's not brainwashing to change your thinking hbbits. If that the definition then brainwashing is what we do every day when we convince ourselves to eat the junk that makes us fat on a daily basis.

Positive thinking is what the Gabriel method is all about. What a shame you missed the point.

PS I lost 8kg without dieting

No offence taken skinnyRay. So glad it worked for you. The cd is very good for anyone who needs help getting certain messages and encouragement into their subconscious mind. My words were that I did not want to be brainwashed (or have messages reinforced) by an outside influence. I do not mind if you want to call it positive thinking. Positive thinking or reinforcement is great. Whatever message we constantly put into our subconscious mind, whether good or bad, is a kind of brainwashing. Or we can just call it positive or negative reinforcement. We are all influenced by ongoing messages from the moment we are born. It doesn't matter if it comes from parents, teachers, television or wherever. I think Jon Gabriel is absolutely fantastic and has done a wonderful job on himself and also helped others. My input was really in agreement that it was a kind of self-hypnosis; another word which is also saying the same thing. It appears that my use of the word brainwashing was too strong for you skinnyRay, so I hope I didn't offend you by using it. Positive thinking is a wonderful explanation. Glad it worked so well for you. What I was also saying was that I wanted to input my own messages.
