Default Come-backs for Atkins bashers

I thought I'd start a thread for us wonderful Atkineers to brainstorm on how to wittily and sarcastically answer those who feel free to insult our intelligence by bashing our WOL...

Let the fun begin.......

I tell people that I've given up junk food & eat good fat & veggies everyone seems ok with that as long as you don't say Atkins. Funny isn't it.

A lot of time, you can turn it back on the nasty person with a simple, "why ever would you say such a thing?" or "have you read the book and latest research?". The second is great as there's an implied "or are you just spouting off the propaganda?"

For every animal you don't eat, I'm going to eat four.

Maybe a person should just look em in the eye and say
"Ya-I-know....I really am trying to KILL myself....

I'm just waiting for my kidneys to asplode".

The question is....can I do it with a straight face?

"I suppose we will have to agree to disagree. Now enjoy your tiny Weight Watchers meal. I am going to have 16oz Ribeye smothered in cheese and bacon with a huge side of creamed cauliflower and butter. Why do you looked so shocked? Isn't that on your plan?"

I prefer the ridiculous "I know you are but, what am I?". Very childish, makes no sense, throws 'em off guard.

I remember this woman telling me at a party (in front of everyone), "I'm a nurse and it's such an unhealthy diet" blah blah blah - just trying to embarrass me. I stood there a minute looking at her plate and mine. It was a fish fry and I had the cook fry some fish without any coating and had coleslaw without the dressing. She had a plate of fries, hushpuppies and 2 pieces of cake not to mention she was really overweight. I admit it was wrong, but I said it anyway. I told her, "Well.....look at me....and look at you."

I tend to look at them pityingly and say "You really haven't been keeping up with the research, have you?"

If someone asks my why I’m not eating the bun on a burger I say "I’m allergic to carbs” and if they ask me what they do to me, I say “They make me fat”. Seriously though I have been doing low-carb so long that most everyone knows I’m a low-carb fanatic so they don’t even bring it up.

ROTFLMAO!!! I'm afraid that is one of the best comebacks I've heard, even though I'm with you on the "shouldn't have" part.
