Question HELP! Dinner Invitation...........

Hi All,

Is there anyone that can help me...........

I have been invited out to a chinese restaurant with friends, I don't know whether to accept as not sure if I can eat there! I know obviously rice/noodles/sweet & sour/anything breaded are out, but does anyone know what in general atkins safe dishes there are.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Many thanks

I always order garlic or chili prawns.
WOE has to be long term so it must fit with friends etc. I skip superfluous birthday morning teas, but catching up with friends... well it is so hard to catch up these days I cant deny my friendships because of where we are catching up, and it might be carb laden. But I am not catching up three times a week at the pub. If you hardly catch up, make efforts to stay on your plan, but enjoy the catch up.

Or do what I do with my gluten free non dairy daughter... I feed her up before she goes to a birthday party so if there is nothing she can eat she will be less tempted. But some don't really want to eat nothing when at a social occasion.

MMmm garlic prawns

I always tell restaurants I'm allergic to ensure no crumbs or batter goes near them. (well I am! My allergic reaction is ravenous eating.)

I also eat well before I go in case there's little I can have. I do find alot of chinese's do varying types of omelette as well as roast chicken. Can you get a copy of the menu before you go so you can plan what's acceptable?

Thanks peauk! I have a menu and yes there are omlettes (foo-yeung) on there which is a nice filling choice :-) but I am unsure about the sauces, black bean, oyster etc...

I avoid all the sauces as they are generally full of MSG & sugars. I just use plenty of pepper or ask them for lots of finely chopped green chilli in there as I love hot!
Enjoy

If they do any sort of 'dry' spare ribs, they MIGHT be low-carb. Can anyone confirm?
