Just wondering.

IDK but I do know that people can have staph and other things on their skin so better to wash.

Turns out I'm not the only wondering this. Wondering if this could be a help for my really oily hair.

Meme I'm still washing my hands. For other reasons have not showered in 18 days.

I found out a few years ago, when I had a nasty scaly seborrheic dermatitis on my face (and my dermatologist's recommended cream would have cost me more than $450 as co-pay!), that warm salty water actually took care of the problem. Once that was over I wondered the same thing about the bio flora, and if perhaps that might have been the problem from the beginning. So, since then, I wash my face everyday with just water (and moisturizing with coconut oil). I take a shower twice a week or so (my hair doesn't need washing more often than that), and other than shampoo I only use soap on the private bits, and occasionally on my face. I use a washcloth, so friction also plays a role in keeping me clean. I have no idea if the skin flora is helped or hindered in any way by this, but I feel fine, and my skin is clear. And, some years ago, I was washing my hair with baking soda, and rinsing with ACV, and my hair quite liked that routine. I have got out of the habit in recent years, but might consider going back to it.
ETA: And, of course, I use soap when I wash my hands, or if particularly dirty

Interesting Verbena. I rarely wash my face with soap since Dr. Oz said removing all oils causes aging!

Today is day 20 without actual bathing. I noticed my smells went down. My normal skin has a slight odor, not unpleasant, that is gone. I still wash my hair in the bathroom sink daily as it as so oily.

Today my doctor prescribed showers! I have a real intolerance for this bathroom. I can spot 5 daddy long leg spiders in residence. The real problem is the mold. There isn't a window and the fan is useless even after removing all the dust. My landlord closes the door all day when I'm gone, mold and mildew took over. My sinuses burn when I go in there and my nose runs profusely all day. Ths shower is on a timer. It takes so long for the warm water, I have about 2 min to do everything I'm stuck with shampoo on my hair and the water is gone. Since they never turn on the heater it is a freezing cold mess. It's disgraceful she only closes the door when I shower, money saving for them.

My dr thinks the shower will warm my skin and help insomnia but it's not going to work that way in this house.
