I read somewhere that iodine can interfere with sleep. I have enough trouble sleeping so take the iodine in the morning. Magnesium seems to help my sleep, so I take that before bedtime. I've also started melatonin. I started with the lowest dose & have increased it once. I may be increasing it again - or maybe take an extra dose when I first wake up in the night, which is usually between 11 & 1. I get back to sleep just fine then, but the 3 am wakefulness can keep me up for an hour or more - sometimes I don't get back to sleep at all.
