Most people get the first sentence, but don't go on to your logical conclusion. Yes, I will die, but I don't need to be in poor health & pain for years because of preventable diabetes complications. I have a horror of nursing homes (I hate visiting people there - it makes me cry.) I've told the kids that I'll die first before being sent to a nursing home. But then, if my brain isn't working properly, maybe I won't notice?
