Hi Kit! I was just thinking of you like 10 min before i logged in! Good to hear from you.

CaCO - I am thinking of you and your mom. Prayers and hugs.

Heidi - Are you out there yet?

Ang - Are you still swamped?

I went off the rails, but I reigned myself in before I did too much damage. I weighed myself this morning and I am up 3 1/2 for the month at this point, after eating clean all this week. I didn't weigh myself before I started eating LC again, it may have been pretty scary if I had. I am glad I caught myself before I was too off plan. Feeling some mojo, too.

They attempted the biopsy last Friday. Mom went into cardiac arrest. After multiple chest compressions they brought her back. She suspended here DNR during the procedure. Personally, I think it was a mistake. That was likely the most peaceful way she could have gone.

Mom is still in the ICU, but after she crashed they had to pump her full of dopamine and adrenaline and she’s still not off of it all...and she’s on heavy pain meds because when a grown man does chest compressions on a 135 pound woman it really freaking hurts!!! Moms real doctor has broken the news to her that there is less than a 10% chance she will ever go home. Mom of course doesn’t accept this. Her behavior has become irrational. They are calling it delirium.

She’s talking to social workers about what she’s going to need once she’s home; meanwhile they haven’t diagnosed what’s in her lungs and lymphnnodes so they have no way of saying what she will need at home, but she’s talking to anyone who will listen about going home....but she wants to stay at the hospital and try the biopsy in a different way to get some answers, but keeps talking about going home. Her oxygen need is up to 10 liters, she’s sleeping a lot. But I asked if it was time to call my step brother in from deployment and the doctors have said no, it’s not time. So.....I wait....and wait....my kids are neglected, my work is nearly non existent (but they are being amazing about it), I’m having trouble sleeping....and we wait.

This really sucks.

Sosumi - Thanks for thinking of me. Great job getting back on plan before too much gain. Hoping we can keep the mojo going.

Oh Caco, I’m so sorry. You are doing all you can. Please be very good to yourself, this has got to be so hard. Go get a massage and treat the family to dinner at a nice restaurant. You all need some rest and time to process this all. Wish I could be there to help out, bring dinner over or something.

Hope to see you all over at Kit’s thread on the other site.

Oh CaCO I am so sorry you and your family are going through this. I agree with Heidi, you need to make sure to spend some time in self care, so you don't extend yourself too much.

This is a very difficult time and I'm sure you are super stressed. Please don't stress about things out of your control. Focus on what you can influence.

Caco I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I know its rough on you both watching her be sick and caring and worrying for her.
