There is so much variation in lean v fat, like with chicken, skin on/skin off, so idk how anyone can truly measure accurately at every single meal eating whole foods.
I've been tracking my weight and macros daily for just a little over a week now (this time around) using MYPLAN here at lowcarber.org but I don't think of what I write down as gospel since you are right, there are so many variables. Yesterday I cooked in the crockpot "pork shoulder, boneless ribs" as per the grocery store label but of course meat has no nutritional labeling, and lots of meat and fat there. So when entering my data in MYPLAN I chose to enter from the MYPLAN food selections:

"Pork, fresh, composite of trimmed retail cuts (leg, loin, shoulder and spareribs), lean and fat, cooked".

That was certainly as close as I could get! So those were the numbers I used but of course the protein/fat could easily be variable my many grams one way or the other. I figure that's just how it is and I don't obsess over it. Close enough for government work.

Exercise is a real struggle for me though, though I am trying to get a little better about it.

Curious-do you do it with the no snacking? They recommend only 2 meals with no snacks, and to take only 60-90 minutes to take those two meals.

I have to use the 90 minutes.

My problem is without keeping it in check, I will revert to eating every two hours. Seriously...

Just noticed my first post in this thread mentioned that I get stuck around 250 lbs from August last year. I’m now at 210, hoping to crack under 200 (I’ve been struggling since Thanksgiving around my weight now).

Yes, no snacking. Maybe I can't say never, but virtually no snacking. And 60-90 minutes to take those two meals? Thanks sounds like a lot! I doubt I take more than 30 minutes for my two meals!

Oh, I have to use the 90 minutes because of my gastric surgery. Although it failed to produce weight loss (I lost 20 after the surgery due to being so sick from trying to eat, but I bounced right back to the stubborn 250 pounds after I recovered from the surgery).

The other plan Fung uses is on top of the daily 16/8, there are 3 OMAD days. The next level plan is on top of daily 16/8, no meals 3 days per week. Those are the basic templates. Any mix of days. The 3 days can be consecutive, or perhaps M, W, F, or work it around your social schedule, etc.

If anyone is interested, I started a new thread in the moderate carb section (same sub forum of daily support) since Dr. Naiman’s plan is probably better known now as the P:E Diet and not so much his old website name of Burn Fat Not Sugar.
