Post One week as a waaaay low carber!

Hello all fellow newbies and returnees,
I'm a returned backslid low-carber and glad to be here. Over the past year I've tried to figure out why I stopped losing/got cravings/regained weight, and all that.

I've come to the conclusion that, for me, my carb counts were not low enough for success. Artificially sweetened foods through me off, too..and made me want more sweets.

So I have turned to a diet by Dr. Bernstein, written for diabetics. At my weight I do have some of the symptoms of Type II, but my blood sugar readings are in the high normal range.

I'm doing great on it, and very, very happy that I have found a low-carb solution for myself. Low-carb is freedom from food craving and food addiction, IMHO.

Looking forward to hearing about everyone's experiences and successes!

Greatings and welcome aboard. You are joined by a whole bunch of people, myself included, with similar experiences. I fell off the wagon two years ago and have only now been able to climb back aboard.

We just need to focus on all of the positive aspects of LC'ing, including all of the great food we can eat and how much better we feel and what a great future we have in front of us, and realize how cheap a price it is if we only have to give up some cupcakes, candy bars, potatoes, bread, and a handful of other things.

Life is good.

Default Hi wbahn,

Yeah, when I dropped out I felt relieved about it all for a while. I told myself I could eat anything - the whole world of food was mine...white bread, candy, junk of all kinds. It didn't take long for me to start feeling crummy, but I had made up my mind not to 'diet' anymore. Kind of gave up, I guess, which is really not my nature. Guess that was the carbs talkin'!

One week into Dr. B's plan, and I am a new woman. Or at least on my way. I've had the 'third day crisis' where you just feel awful all over. I'm still pretty tired and seem to need lots of rest.

Thanks for your welcome and encouraging words.
