Default Metformin and TMI

Hi,

I am on Atkins, and after three weeks on Induction I have not lost a single pound, although I am in Ketosis, well hydrated and measuring my food to make sure I am not over eating, and going to the gym. I feel better in myself, but not losing weight - which is what I need to do.

So I have restarted my Metformin, starting slowly at 500mg and will work my way back up to the 1500mg that I am supposed to be on.

Unfortunately I have really bad diarrhea I go to the bathroom and 3 mins later I am back in there, and I don't get much warning that I need to go.

I have been doing some reading about how to minimise the effects of diarrhea caused by metformin, they definitely suggest eating low carb - which I am already doing, but I have also encountered information saying that for some people eating low carb and lowering their fat intake really helps as well...

How can I make this work? Has anyone tried this to control their symptoms?
Anything else I could try? I have to go out with a friend on Saturday and we are going to be out and about - getting quite nervous about it as this stuff just seems to slip out (OMG! TMI! Sorry!!).

HEEELLLPPP!!!

-Ally

Doesn't matter what I eat, Met does the same thing to me. Even though they want me to take it, I haven't actually taken any in years. Not worth the continual intestinal issues for me.

I just had a dr appt last week, and they lowered my Met dosage, and talked about taking me off it entirely because my test results were so good. I didn't tell them I hadn't been taking it in over five years, it's just not worth the argument. I attribute the improvement in my numbers to LC.
