Is there a reason for taking the acidophilus on an empty stomach?

Less stomach acid present so more live bacteria reach your intestines where they need to be.

I am suffering with you but have no insurance to even try OB...I assume it would turn out the same though...
I have tried 4 different kinds of meds and this yeast still rages... it IS depressing! I know I should cut out cheese and mushrooms but these are things that keep me eating LC.... I REALLY want to try acidoph (spsp) lol but dont think I've seen any refrigerated... will look again.

Any idea on the price of this stuff?

You'll have to get it in a health food store and it starts at $10 and up. The really good stuff can be expensive. Live cultures are what's important.

I paid $17 for the acidophilus I bought from the health food store. Also, might I suggest you trying garlic tablets...you can get these at Walmart and they are pretty cheap. Let me warn you thought...I bought the odorless kind and I can still taste them all day long when I take them. You can smell them when you open the bottle too.
