cheez feeds yeast, so it's important to get it out of your diet when detoxing from candida. It's sad, but true, im almost 28 days on atkins induction, and it's cheese that got me here.
I just got back from the shops today with bags full of fish & sea food. This is the next phase for me The Perricone diet principles, adapted to your particular diet can be useful, as a guide to rebuilding the body's systems after prolonged nutritional impairment common in auto immune/internal hygiene problems.
A good book i found (i think it was gut reaction, by gudrun johnsson) explained that while recovering from acute yeast infection, RAW veg was a no no, something about enzymes/sugars feed yeast or irritate the gut lining, i can't quite remember. All veg (mostly green) was to be eaten cooked (garlic being the exception) & protein would make up the bulk of a meal.
This shocked me to the core, and went against everything i believed, but rang true as i recalled juicing veg regularly along with my various "healthy" diets, for months/years, but with no real improvement in my symptoms, made me suspicious & i remembered that snippet of info.
This paradoxically is not true for an all out veg juice fast, as this break from food, gives the body time to really clean the body up, inside & out with miraculous results, but it takes commitment.
Just today i found it v.hard to leave the lettuce behind while shoppping for phase 1 of my Perricone/Atkins stage (i love my juicer
), but i have noticed the disgusting coating of thick "yeast!?" on the back of my, newly pink tongue
, but only after eating cheese, it's worse now than when i was high on carbs, this leaves no doubt in my mind that cheez feeds yeast.
It reminds me of Atkins, you can eat all the fat you like with fantastic results, AND weight loss, but ONLY if you drop the carbs, otherwise the excess fat becomes a health issue!!
The more i learn, the less i understand, it seems, but results dont lie. I thought Atkins would help me to combat the beasty yeastys, it was a challenge coz i luurve food, all food, carbs included.
So first carbs now cheez, but after the most challenging month of my life, turning down all types of lovely homecooked meals, birthday cakes & deserts, i now know i can get through this next stage.
There are some herb tea's formulated to kill off systemic yeast, like paul d'arco, in conjuction with candida starving diet & herbs, oils and stuff. Also sucking cloves, instead of gum.
