Well, I think everyone is different with different trigger foods. I'd suggest pairing your diet down to a small number of foods you are pretty confident don't trigger you, for me that is meat and veggies. Then add in things to try for 4 days. If you get a reaction, note it, remove it and wait for the gut to settle before you try a new one.
I seem to do ok with Splenda.
Chocolate is one of the worst for me and I think it isn't uncommon. Fortunately I started to kind of dislike chocolate around the time I figured out it was really hurting my gut, so it wasn't too hard to give up.
