I'm diabetic and have had some bad yeast problems over the years.
I make lemonade with a half cup of juice, an entire lemon squeezed, and stevia diluted to 2 quarts. (I use both juice and lemon cause I'm lazy enough to not want to juice a bunch of lemons, but want the fresh flavor).
I have calculated this to be just under 2g carb/8 oz glass. Thus it's about the same as a cup of coffee with cream and packet sweetener.
In my diet, where calculations are primarily for insulin-dosing purposes, this is a complete freebie.
I actually do the same with limes and lime juice (which makes a nice mixer with vodka too!), and with real cranberry juice (not the "cocktail" stuff, just plain juice).
IMO, the overall carb count is what counts... that lemons contain sugar rather than starch isn't relevant, the relevant bit is the dose is so small. Doesn't effect my blood glucose, so I doubt it feeds yeast much.
I also think these diluted juices are healthier than Diet Pepsi or Crystal Light - the slight increase in carbs isn't much for the nutrients.
