Default FtballMom's Gym Journal

I've been off plan for weeks, and finally got back to induction. I'm trying to make my minigoals relate to the exercise I'm doing and the size I'm wearing, rather than achieve a specific number on the scale. At least for awhile! I decided to make my first minigoal be to exercise to a dvd at least 3 times this week.

I have a large selection of dvds (and videos) to choose from. I know I'm not motivated right now to go to a gym.

So,

Tuesday: Yoga Booty Ballet - Total Toning Basics
Today: WATP 30 minute workout (2 mile)

YBB today.

I am really liking the feel of the ballet on my muscles. I know there are no real results yet, but I can feel my abs tucking in and my legs are worked without that "Frankenstein" feeling I get after squats and such. They still are sore, but not down to the core, if you will. I'm interested in seeing if this type of exercise works as quickly and gives similar results. I'm not afraid of working out and bulking up - when I lifted alot I was very small and looked great (if I do say so myself). But, I'm wondering if the ballet dance moves will stretch my muscle look any.

So, I bought 2 new ballet dvd's online yesterday, and am looking forward to trying them. Ballet really focuses on legs/butt and core abs which is what I feel like I need right now. Building the muscle should help me burn the fat, and those big leg muscles are the best to start with. I'm hoping I can get into some reasonable shape this summer, since I gained back practically all the weight I lost last year.

I've been forgetting to log in my workouts.

March 19, 20, 21 Walked 6+ hours a day in Washington DC.

Today:
Elements Ballet Conditioning

Kicked my butt. Couldn't finish the legs, the jumps or the abs. Hopefully repetition will help!

Retook my measurements (which are very similar to same time last year) to begin monitoring my body shape. I'm thinking of weighing just once a week, to re-focus my energy on my workouts, rather than my diet and weight number.

Could only make it through 33 mins of BC. Legs were still shaky. But, I got a lot out of it, and will spend some time today doing heavy housework, so I'll call it an exercise day.

Took yesterday off.

Today was YBB Toning - about 30 mins long. It was much easier than in the past, so I think Ballet Conditioning is starting to work!

Nothing Saturday beyond cleaning out the garage.

Today - BC. Full hour. Better but still tough. Still can't finish any section, but I managed at least half of the aerobic/jump section.

Monday - 30 mins of dance dvd. It's OK but not as good as I'd hoped.

Tuesday - 18 mins on stairmaster, levels 3 - 5. Had to run to get hair cut.

Nothing all weekend.

Today - BC, but skipped 2 sections. Couldn't do it. 2 Callanetics dvds came in the mail today - maybe I'll do one tonight.

Tuesday - Callanetics 10 in 10

Wednesday - Callanetics Evolution

I can really feel the muscles working. Tomorrow I need to do cardio though, since I'm definitely not getting any with the ballet or the callanetics.
