Hi everyone,

I had some success with an atkins type WOE, but it was too restrictive so Ive gotten down and dirty with tons of carbs lately and gained it back. Im thinking this may give me the middle ground Im looking for.

I'm looking forward to learning from you guys

Hi, welcome! I just switched from "atkins" style LC to CAD a few weeks ago and I just love it. Read the book, follow the plan, don't cheat (which is easy to me because I get to have my cake and eat it too - literally!) and it just might be the WOE you are looking for.

Good luck.

hi Tiger-
welcome!
This is a great WOL. It is still LC- and very LC for 2 meals/day, but you can eat carbs with your RM once/day. Please tell us more about you and how we can help!
I checked your journal- only one post and from 2007- so I didn't write there.

Thanks for the welcome!
I am definately a "professional" dieter and have been on dozens of diets since my last post here. The thing is I always lost better when I cut down/out carbs. So...Im back

I know LC is what I should be doing....and that reward meal is a bit scary to me...but I think its the only way I can LC long term

I know emotional eatting is playing a huge part in my weight gain because I'm getting a divorce in about six months and I guess Ive just been eatting my feelings. I know emotional eatting is a whole separate thing, but I really have to get that under control as well or I dont think anything will work for me.

hi-
the emotional eating is something to deal with now. I think Dr.Phils book is good- as well as others. It may be helpful to go to a group like Overeaters Anon or even a divorce support group. Eating and gaining will not help anything- as you know!

I hope you have the CAD or CALP books- just doing it 'by the book' will help lots.

I do have the CAD book and am reading that, but maybe it would be a good idea to pick up the Dr Phil book too.

Thank you for the suggeston

you are welcome- here is a website of someone who writes lots of stuff on emotional eating.
And it is Dr Phils original 7 keys book- not the diet book.
