Smile I'm from Wisconsin and want to be your buddy!

Hi Nibby!
I'm from Wisconsin and am doing the Atkins plan, not as a diet, but as a life style. I'm in OWL and will be happy to share helpful tips and good tasting products I've found. I didn't look at your profile, so all I know is that you are from Wisconsin so far. I'm going to put this site in my favorites box, but if you don't hear from me again, it's because I couldn't find my way back to the site. Last night I signed up with a group on a site called "Everything Atkins" and when I tried to go back to it I couldn't find it! I hope I'll be luckier with this one! I'm looking forward to being your buddy! Maureen

HI
I'm near Sheboygan, I will be glad to join this thread. I have been on Atkins over a year now. Lost about 29 lbs and in a stall right now.
Will be glad to meet other Wisconites

Madison here. Land of the vegetarians but the LC trend is hitting.

LC is getting stronger here too, Walmart is getting more products in all the time.
Our GNC store can't keep up with the Atkins products. Isn't this great.

I'm in Eau Claire, Wisconsin -- part of the forgotten north! Wish our Walmart carried more low carb stuff -- they have a few bars, but not bread or Davinci syrups, or lots of the low carb products other Walmarts seem to carry. It's very hard to find anything low carb here -- I end up ordering a lot from the internet.

Hi
I don't think it is just your area, I think all Walmarts in Wisconsin are slow. Seem people are getting things there from all over the country and I can't find them here.

Sure wish they would get with it. I did find alot of splenda sweetened hard candies with very low carbs at Walmart this week.

Wow, Splenda sweetened candy would be great! Don't have any of that here either. I would really like to find the DaVinci syrups, but have only found Atkins syrup at GNC. They cost a lot more, and I haven't tried them so I don't know if they're good. Has anyone tried Atkins syrups? Specifically, the chocolate - I've been using the DaVinci chocolate syrup to make Italian sodas, and I'm almost out.

Hi Peg

I buy all my syrups right from the Davinci site. They even have specials at times. It is shipped out in just a few days. I have seen a couple at Walmart, but not the flavors I like.
The Danish pastry is really uyummy and if you add a little raspberry syrup to it, almost tastes like the real thing. A quart is 7.95 and sometimes a dollar off.

Thanks for the tip BevB -- I'll try the DaVinci site! The Atkins syrups at GNC were $5.95 for a pint, so much more expensive.

Hey fellow Wisconsinites:

What do you use the Davinci syrups for?

Hi Cininamo,

I use then all the time, they have less carbs then regular splenda and you can use them in coffee just like the coffee shops, you can put them in soda or seltzer to flavor, you can mix them in whipped cream, I like to mix them in my cream cheese. The danish pastry and raspberry in cream cheese is like eating the filling in a danish. I mix some butter and carmel flavor and dip my pork rinds in that. Yummy. It goes a long way and I did buy the pumps as it is easier and faster to get out and you can measue a pump and know what you are getting.

Just some ideas.
Bev

I almost forgot, there is a maple syrup one that tastes just like the real thing with lot less carbs that I use on the waffle and pancake recipes in here. You don't need much and it's sooooo good.
