Default Welcome back!

Glad to see the forums back online again. I've been frantic the last few days trying to get here and having no luck. Having spent my entire professional career debugging computer problems I knew it had to be something bad to keep a site offline for days!

How did everyone make out during the outage? I realized that I really depend heavily on this site to help me stay focused. But I made out okay, and finally dropped the pounds I gained while my sister was visiting me.

On the down side, on Sunday I came down with a *cold* for the first time in three years. I have been totally free of sicknesses for three years and really felt my diet and the supplements I take had helped make me "bulletproof". But clearly not the case, alas, as I battle clogged ears, stuffy and runny nose, pressure headache behind the eyeballs. Monday was the worst. Except for walking the dog (and what an effort that was) I basically spent the whole day in bed, but Tueday was better and today was better yet.

I've given up the soda habit, but when I feel rotten I really like ginger ale. Tuesday I got out to the local natural foods market and picked up a 6-pack of ginger ale sweetened with stevia. It's actually a bit too sweet for me taste, but it does hit the spot going down. Hope everyone else is well.

me too. I even went so far as to query WHOIS to find out who owned the domain name to possibly contact them and find out what was happening(though I didn't actually contact), and even went to the forums of the hosting site to see if there was anything there!

I know exactly what you mean - childhood memories to me mean gingerale and er..vanilla ice cream (and milk toast!) when ill. Now...I love plain ginger tea, no milk toast and ice cream as part of a balanced reward meal only.

Try the ginger tea

oh my goodness!!! i was so worried that the site was permanently down! i too didn't realize how much i depend on it. even if i don't post, i just come to read the posts. it helps me stay on track. it had become part of my daily "check-in" sites along with people.com, cnn.com, and facebook.

debbie, my mom has a soda machine that lets her make fresh sodas with xylitol or stevia, and they're delish!! i bet you could whip up a homemade ginger ale to beat anything you could buy in the market!

I went to a cloud computing vendor-fest for the past two days in order to take my mind off missing this site. Now *that's* desperate.

I'd been drinking ginger tea for a couple days, but it just wasn't the same. The ginger needs to be cold and fizzy.

I'm with you merpig...I LOVE ginger ale!!! cold and fizzy for me too.

(although that seasonal Gingerbread tea is the bomb too!).

I love Canada Dry brand (but it's not to be found sugar free where I am...) but I do find an 'off label' brand every now and then that has Splenda in it at a certain health food store.

I was also minorly panicked that the site was lost and gone forever, despite knowing there been a warning about some maintenance issues.
