I feel like I'm REALLY sensitive to thyroid dose changes, for awhile. For instance, my dose was raised from 125 mcg to 137 mcg and for awhile I felt kind of hyper. Then slowly, slowly I felt more normal, then many months later, I feel hypothyroid again. It's like I build up a resistance to my dosage or something.

Yes, I felt a bit hyper when they first readjusted my dosage in January (the only time it's been readjusted in 30 yrs!) It only lasted a couple of weeks, and then I felt fine again. I have had brief periods of feeling hyper since then, but I don't relate it to the thyroid. For instance, it happened when I switched to Atkins '72, and again when I quit smoking. Both times, the feeling lasted for about 2 weeks.

I'm curious why I'm suddenly needing more thyroid, maybe has something to do with menopause.

Menopause made my slightly elevated thyroid levels a lot worse.
