I read an article that said people who strictly count calories, don't do as well because they are "stressed" about watching the count, releasing cortisol. There is certainly something to "knowing" I'm only allowed 1000kc a day....not sure I'm liking it...will probably go back to induction-type eating...not really seeing the weight fall off

I did ff yesterday because I realized halfway threw the day that my fat levels were really high and my cals low so I figured why not I,m already halfway there. I think the best thing ff has done for me is get the weight loss moving again and its teaching me to really pay attention to fat levels. I tend to watch carbs and always end up below 20% on fat and really high on protein. FF is forcing my to get used to adding fat to my diet.

Oops, I didn't report my weight. This morning I was 175.8, so Valentine's dinner only resulted in a tiny temporary weight fluctuation.
I now FF during the day and have a normal meat at night with DH.

Scrambled eggs and bacon
Decaf tea or coffee
Brie cheese
Pate
Pepperoni and Cream Cheese
Macadamia Nuts

Dinner last night was a small serve of fish with peas and corn.

Dinner tonight will be a green curry (I check the label for the curry paste), with coconut milk (I check the label of the milk for low carb).

I hope to say losing weight, as I have a ways to go yet.

The corn and peas are a little higher on the carb list are they going to throw you off?

I had to jettison corn and peas, but especially corn. I saw an obvious weight pop from it.

I did too thats why I ask. I can have small amounts of corn in taco soup though and it doesn,t seem to stall me but it probly amounts to a teaspoon full of corn per cup of soup. I,m down another pound this morning. I am still confused about why I didn,t get my whoosh the day after my period instead its coming off in spurts. My TOM was two weeks early so something hormonally must be going on.

A few yrs ago, I would do the ff to lose faster than I was on atkins...I know, I know not the reason you are supposed to do it, but I did and it worked...I lost over 90 pds in less than a yr..then sadly life and stress hit me in the face, i went off all plans and gained it back....sighhhh...i just wanted to pass along some of my favorite ff things to eat...good luck all

balls of cream cheese rolled in sf jello powder
deviled eggs with extra mayo
chicken salad with extra mayo
cream cheese mixed with peanut butter and little sweetener
celery stuffed with peanut butter or cream cheese
pork rinds dipped in sour cream
hwc in diet orange soda
hwc whipped with little sf jello powder whipped in
hwc whipped with cocoa powder and sweetener
pepperoni chips dipped in sour cream or cream cheese

just so ideas of what i ate or what i had saved to try if needed...good luck

Oooh! I love the idea of pepperoni chips with dips. I shall do that. You could make nachos with those.. The chips with guacamole, cheese, soured cream and jalapeno peppers They'd also be good with chili beef

I tried doing ffast by upping my fat cals to 80 or above and keeping my cals below 1000 and it didn,t work for me. It worked extemely well when I ate the foods he had in the book but that just sucked. I,m not sure I want to go there again.

Please don't take offense by this, but your lack of significant weight loss may be due to you not following all of the induction rules. Your diet isn't really Atkins induction phase, in order to get the results you should really try to follow all of the rules. I've found, over the years, that my body is very sensitive to certain foods that completely stall my weight loss: nuts, excessive dairy, alcohol, etc.

In all of your posts in this thread I only see vegetables mentioned one time, and they were veggies not allowed on induction. Nuts are also not allowed on induction. I also see a lot of cheese in your diet, you don't specify how much, but I would imagine your going over the limit in some cases. I see almost no fiber in your diet, fiber is one of the key's to succesful induction.

Atkins induction rules that you should consider:
less than 4 oz. of cheese
No nuts or seeds
12-15 grams of carbs from veggies on the approved list per day
Coconut Milk isn't specifically listed in any of the approved lists, but the consensus is generally to avoid it on induction.
No alcohol
lots of water

From your posts it appears you "cheat" ever few days, that will prevent your body from going into ketosis. I would completely start over on induction, with a meal plan, and a review of the induction rules.

I would just like to note that the guideline of 12-15g daily carbs from veggies is not true of every Atkins plan. I am following the 2002 version of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution and this guideline is not mentioned in that book. Just FYI.

There's your problem!

More than anything else, THIS will just keep you where you are at, or create very slow losses. See, the body takes time to change gears and switch over to fat burning, days or even a week.

"Cheating" even once a week will keep you where you are for a long time.
