Default Remaining static a good maintenance strategy?

As my weight is now in the “healthy” BMI range(under 25) and the weight that needs to come off me is now a personal preference(the how giggly I want to be factor).

I am trying to think of strategy to keep the weight off. I think that the goal of saying static… ie keeping my weight between X & Y lbs is not going to work. Just knowing my own mind, I will see it as being done/good job...now where's that chocolate cake…

I think it may be better to always have a goal to work towards/something to always keep my eye on. Now the idea of forever losing weight is silly...or anorexia I guess.

My idea is to have a evolving goal that morphs as I start to make it. so I always have something to work towards. So now my goal is not to lose weight per say but to lower my body fat % to 15%(I am a man) while doing weights and combine that with physical goals like doing a un-aided hand stand for 30 seconds and going a L-sit.

Just wondering if any other maintenance low carber is doing anything like that.

Regards Andrew

My maintenance focus is on eating well...and continuing to exercise...to continue my bouldering training in the fall...fit in my clothes...take care of my body...I have lost since I reached goal....so restructuring my eating a bit to stabilize the weight....I will set activity goals...ziplining....hiking.....fitness for our trip to France Italy and Austria next yr....

I think it's a great idea to keep working toward goals. You've already 'majored on the majors' by getting yourself into the bracket you want to be in, so 'majoring on the minors' can start now in the form of mini-goals. Great strategy, IMO.

I'm still eating the same as when I was losing. The weight loss just stopped on its own! I guess I could be in a great big 11 year stall lol!! But my weight is fine for my height. I do miss not losing tho. I used to enjoy seeing those changes and when you dont have that to focus on, it can sometimes make you become complacent. But I eat like this for my health too.

I'm not in maintenance yet, but browsing through here to get ready. I've been thinking about what my goals will be, and it will be to beat the odds by not regaining, to begin strength training and to work on reshaping my body.

I want to be able to get into some decent level of hiking (as my husband has goals I'd like to achieve with him re a couple of mountain summits).

I'm curious to see what changes I will need to make to stop losing, but not gain

For me, I'm trying to improve my cholesterol numbers in my annual screening in early 2015. The thought of picturing my body chemistry changing, or finding out if I can, is what makes me motivated. And I spend more thought on WHAT kinds of fats to eat to do this.
