Default confused about meat fast

Hi,

I am in a wedding in a little over two weeks and I decided to
try to lose the weight a little faster and do the meat fast, the Stillman diet, for a little while, this is currently my 4th day on it and I'm not sure what I should expect on this and what I should do when I get off of this.

I am honestly getting tired of it fast, I can't stand just eating meat and eggs and it's rather difficult to stick to this when you are at college all day and you have to commute over an hour in between classes to eat something so I am tempted to quit.
Am I doing it wrong though, should I just have done it for a day or two and then go back to Atkins or should I do it for awhile?
Can I go back to eating 20 carbs a day after this too or will I gain weight if I do?

Also what exactly does this do for you, how does it get you out of a stall, should a person lose weight after it instead of during it?

sorry for all of the questions
thanks for everything
Heidi

Heidi,

First I am going to appologize ahead of time if this seems a bit harsh. But I am a bit amazed.

You are following a fast that you have not researched, and have no clue on what it is suppose to offer you, nor results to expect? You have blindly read somewhere that this was the thing to do so instead of reading up on it, gave it a shot on what you thought was the way to do it without any medical supervision as well?

Did you consider the health ramifications of not providing your body with nutrients and other essential vitamins/minerals from other sources of foods? In order to what? Try to lose the weight faster than your body is willing to let go of it?

Like I said, I do appologize if this seems a bit harsh, however I would strongly advise to you and others that before you try something so radical that you first read up on it and get all the facts and everything you can about it before trying it.

While I can appriecate the frustration of being stalled (hint: I stalled for 8 solid months), I do not understand what the rush is to lose the weight faster than the body is willing to take it off. We did not gain the 60 to 100 pounds over night. It was a gradual thing, that will come off the exact same way.

I actually ended the fast today because I wasn't feeling very good and I appreciate the lecture, I probably needed it but I am the maid of honor in my best friend's wedding in a little over two weeks and I'm honestly nervous. I wanted to lose a lot more weight than I have and I am very unhappy with myself and that is why I didn't think twice when I saw that this diet would take off pounds quicker.

Heidi,

Like I said I can relate to the frustration of the weight moving off slowly. However you are doing fantastic so far. From your profile you have lost 11 pounds in less than 4 weeks.

I am sure your best friend would rather have you healthy and happy than about to fall over from malnutrition Keep your chin up, the weight will come off when the body is ready to let go of it.

Make sure you are drinking lots and lots of water to help with weight loss.

Hi Heidi!

I hope you are not beating yourself up over all this! It is so frustrating sometimes to look in the mirror and realize how fat I am!

I was wondering how you are doing now - have you gone back to Atkins? How are you feeling?

Hang in there. I know personally I can "beat myself up" so much it can take years to recover.

-Misty
