I am new to this forum also. I just brought the book and am reading it first. Made myself a doc's appointment just to make sure everything is ok. Then if i have green lite then i will start atkins.

Ray and I would be willing to do a meat and greet! Pretty much any day is okay, as long as it doesn't go too late. We get up at 4:00 am and that comes pretty early.

There used to be a group of us that got together, but that's kind of dropped off. We need the incentive and the support as well.

Ray is a Transit driver and would walk from Stafford & Pembina home to Fort Rouge. Now he has taken up biking and with the run he does now is able to transport his bike to Polo Park and then bike home after his shift is finished. That's 7K per day! What a guy!

Anyway, let us know what you are up for....

I've got lots of spare time at the moment as I am recovering from my knee replacement. How about we pick a date, time and location and see what response we get? I live in Fort Rouge as well. Has any one been to the Rib Shack (Pembina near Windermere)? I went there for the first time last Wednesday and it was really nice and it was easy to stay on plan.

Pick a spot, day and time. There isn't anywhere too far in this city. We're only 20-25 minutes from anywhere.

There has to be lots of people doing low carb in Wpg. There's now 2 Low Carb stores and tons of stuff in all the grocery stores.

What kind of place were you normally meeting? Someone's house or a restaurant? I am free most time's in the evenings but I work during the day, so I would be interested in coming out. Any suggestions of a time/place?

Usually it was in a restaurant. One time we would go to one at the Crossroads and then the next time St. Vital. Any day and any place is okay for us, just as long as it doesn't go too late. 4:30 comes mighty early!

It also depends to on what people can afford. We have gone to Moxie's and Applebees in the past. They're not too bad food wise and price wise. Tony Roma is doable as well. It all depends on what everybody can afford. Perkins and Smitty's aren't too bad either. Whatever works.....

OK I'm going to make a suggestion on a time and date and we can throw around some ideas for a location once we have the date and time established. How about 6:00pm on Thursday August 5?

I just thought of something;

Perhaps I could place up a couple posters. My daugther may start working at Low Carb Connection next week so we could get one up there and at Borowski's.

Would other's like to get a notice up at stores/businesses in their area?

I would love to see a LC get together happen once a month - that's still my dream but I'm so busy with other committments right now that I can't help much to get the ball rolling.

I wanted to contact Charles Adler from CJOB to help promote this life style cuz I know he's into it and could bring a VOICE to our Manitoba public! Crazy idea, I know.
