Well you want to start loading right after your depletion work out. I usually do my depletion work out after work on Friday afternoon and then I carb friday night and all day Saturday. Sunday I'm back to zero carbs and I get my strength training in. Maybe some light cardio later in the day, to get back into keto quickly.

Hey Innermusic, What kind of vegetarian are you? Lacto, Ovo, Lacto-Ovo, Vegan???

Not if you want to maintain muscle mass. It's important to begin the carbup right after the depletion workout, otherwise you'll begin to catabolize muscle. Do your depletion Friday late afternoon or early evening, then begin with liquid carbs (dextrose/maltodextrin) and simple carbs later. On Saturday, change to complex carbs like brown rice, potatoes, pancakes, whole grain bread, oatmeal. On Sunday, you should be back in ketosis by lunchtime. Remember, 25-35 g carbs per day during the week. Use ketostix at the beginning. A little cardio will help on Sunday to get you back into ketosis.

Ok! I think I am starting to understand! One more thing though, please. I workout definitely 6 days a week at 4am. Could I start right after my workout in the morning, or do I need to do an afternoon workout too? I workout am and pm during the week at least three out of the five. But I always workout in the am. Then I could carb up Friday and half day Saturday. Would that work? Thanks for all your help.

Carla
