Default Did she change her ideas on protein?

I've read all of her books, and think she's great. But as far as I can see, in the first one and the cookbook, she says you don't need to measure protein and fat- only carbs.
In The Program, she limits protein according to your weight and activity level.
The most I could eat then would be around 65 grams of protein a day!
It's unbelievably easy to eat more than this amount and makes the diet much more restrictive than it was initially. I'm confused and not really feeling as good as I did about the diet when it had more freedom (not to measure) built in... What do you think?

ohh me too the same confusion. For me what i have taken from her book is not the plan but the knowledge. i have understood how important it is to balance everything we eat and the best explanation of insuline and adrenaline of any book.

No plan will work exactly from the book you have to make it work for your life.
I have also realised that no matter how many books you read about balance between carbs protein and fat, for people who are metabolically resistent induction level(atkin) and a little above is the only way to go. Also if you cannot tolerate low carb go reverse atkins. start with say 100g and keep reducing it untill you can loose weight. This is much much harder than atkins.

I would say read around there are many more plans if this seems confusing or try to see what is best for you within schwarzbein. But the goal is try and follow something.

That's one of the reasons I consider myself a mostly "SP1" person. I think she's dead wrong about protein. I believe that my body needs at least 100g of protein daily to prevent it from breaking down muscle protein to meet basic requirements. That's based on a lot of reading -- much of it contradictory, of course -- and personal experience, plus the facts that I'm active and do muscle-building exercise. I'm no doctor.

I figure that if the key things I take from Schwarzbein are these:
- eat whole, natural foods
- don't worry much about non-starchy veg carbs
- restrict other carbs
- avoid sugar, but have low-GI fruit in small servings sometimes
- consider the quality of food as much as the quantity
- enjoy plenty of non-damaged fats
- give preference to the least processed products

... then I'll be doing pretty well. And it's working so far.
